3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup melted shortening
2 well beaten eggs
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped dates
powdered sugar to dust

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Combine with brown sugar. Add melted shortening to beaten eggs and combine with dry ingredients. Add chopped pecans and dates. Turn into a well greased 7x11 inch pan. Bake in a 350º oven for 20-25 minutes. Cut into bars while hot and coat with powdered sugar.
