1 German Chocolate boxed cake mix (plus box ingredients)
6 tsp butter, softened
14 oz bag of caramels
1/2 can Eagle Brand condensed milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup (6 oz) chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare cake mix according to box directions, adding butter. Pour 1/2 of mix into a prepared 9 x 13 inch pan; bake at 350 degrees for 18 mins (will not be completely done). In saucepan, melt caramels and add condensed milk. Pour over partially baked cake; pour rest of cake batter over caramel layer. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over top. Bake 20 minutes or until cake springs back to touch. Cool before cutting.

This is Daddy's favorite cake recipe; he usually requests this one for his birthday. The gooey caramel center with pecans and chocolate chips really pushes the yum factor over the top.
