1 lb fresh crabmeat
1/2 - 3/4 cup mashed potatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
2 hard boiled eggs, chopped
2 tbsp worchestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten
Bread crumbs (seasoned or unseasoned)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and pat into 4 inch rounds about 1 inch thick. Chill for better handling. Dip into beaton egg and then bread crumbs. Sauté gently in a shallow pan until golden. Flip and cook gently on the other side until golden. Serve with cocktail sauce or tartar sauce.

My grandparents lived in Florida and while there, my grandmother perfected many recipes. This was one of them. After we cooked the fresh caught crab and eaten as much as we could right from the shell, we'd clean the remaining crab and my grandmother would make these patties. I can still see us all sitting around the table covered in newspaper, shells everywhere, small bowls of browned butter filled with crabmeat, laughing and chatting all the while.
