3¾ c. milk
⅛ tsp. salt
5 eggs
3 c. raisin bread cubes (day old)
1½ tsp. Vanilla extract
Hot water

About 2 hours before serving or early in the day:
In 1½ quart casserole using a wire whisk, beat milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt until well blended. Stir in bread cubes.
Set casserole in 8x8” baking pan. Place baking pan (with casserole dish inside) on oven rack. Pour hot water into pan to come halfway up side of casserole dish. Bake in 325º F. oven for 1¼ hours or until knife inserted comes out clean. Serve bread pudding warm, plain, or with ice cream or whipped topping. To serve cold, chill at least 3 hours before serving.
