1 c. flour
tsp. nutmeg
tsp. baking powder
c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. applesauce
tsp. ground cloves
c. raisins (note: for plumper raisins, soak in cold water for 5 minutes)
1 c. grape nuts cereal (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Drop by teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F. for 12-15 minutes.
