2 egg whites
⅛ tsp salt
½ cup sugar
½ tsp almond extract
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 cups packed flaked coconut
15 red candied cherries cut in half

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º
Greased cookie sheet and dust with flour

In small bowl beat egg whites until foamy.
Add salt and beat until soft peaks appear.
Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time and beat until very stiff.
Fold in extracts and coconut until well-blended.

Place well-rounded teaspoonfuls 1" apart on cookie sheet.
With fingers dipped in cold water form smooth mounds.
Top each with a half cherry.

Bake for 20 minutes or until surface feels firm - the inside should remain soft.

Cool on sheet
Remove to an air tight container
