3 cups sifted flour
¾ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 cup butter
⅔ cup minus 1 Tbsp sugar
½ cup light corn syrup
1 beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt
Thoroughly cream the butter and sugar. Add the syrup and beat until well blended.
Beat in the egg and vanilla.
Combine the mixture with the dry ingredients,mixing well.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for one hour.

Take dough out and shape into two rolls, each about two inches in diameter.
Wrap the rolls separately and rfrigerate until thoroughly chilled - about 4 hours.

Preheat oven to 350º
With very sharp knife, cut thin slices about ¼" thick.
Place slices about ½" apart on the cookie sheet
Crimp around the edges with fork tines, if desired.
Sprinkle tops lightly with sugar

Bake 12 - 15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Remove from sheet immediately
