1/2 cup walnut halves or pieces
3 large apples, peeled and cored, red, Cortland or Spartan
2 or 3 tbsp sugar or honey
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c. sweet red wine like Manischewitz (available at LCBO)
dash of ground ginger - not fresh

Steel knife blade: Process nuts for 6 to 8 seconds, until coarsely chopped. Empty bowl. Add apples which have been cut in chunks. Process until minced. Add nuts back to processor bowl along with remaining ingredients. Blend mixture together with quick on/off turns, until mixed.

Makes about 2 1/2 cups - enough for a large Passover crowd. Refrigerate mixture until serving time.
