Meat Mixture:
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 lb ground beef of veal (you could try it with chicken or turkey)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
6 tbsp matzo meal
1/3 cup water
oil for frying
Vegetable Mixture:
3 or 4 onions, halved and then diced

1 red pepper, halved and seeded
2 stalks celery, diced
1 pint mushrooms
salt, pepper, paprika
1/2 cup dry red wine (or red cooking wine)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients for meat mixture and form into 8- 10 patties about 1/2" thick. Brown in hot oil on medium heat in a large skillet or electric frypan for about 6 minutes on the first side, and about 4 minutes on the second side, until well browned. Cover and let steam on low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Add more oil if necessary.

2. Slice all vegetables using slicing blade or by hand, into thin strips. Add to skillet and brown in pan juices, stirring often, about 3 to 4 minutes. Sprinkle with seasonings, being quite generous with the paprika (about 2 - 3 tsp). Add wine and hamburgers and cook 3 to 4 minutes longer.
