6 slices bacon
1 small onion, chopped
2 cups potatoes, cubed
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 dashes tobacco sauce
3 cups chopped clams and the juice from the clams
1 pint (2 cups) half and half
2 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. cornstarch mixed with a little water (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
* Cut bacon into small pieces.
* In a Dutch oven or soup pot, saute the bacon until crisp.
* Add the onion, celery, and parsley and continue to saute (about 8-10 minutes)
* Add the potatoes and seasonings and stir to mix.
* Add the clam Juice.
* Cook until the potatoes are tender, over medium heat, about 10 minutes.
* Stir in the clams, half and half and the butter.
* Cook until soup is hot.
* If you want the soup thicker, add the cornstarch/eater mixture, a little at a time until you have the consistency you desire.
* Serve with crusty bread.
