1 lb rotini

SAUCE:
2 tsp grated ginger root
2 tsp crushed garlic
1/4 cup low sodium soya sauce
1 cup beef broth
2 1/2 tsp sesame oil
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp cornstarch
STIR-FRY:
1 lb flank or top sirloin steak, thinly sliced in opposite direction to the grain of the meat in 3" long pieces
2 tsp vegetable oil
3/4 cup chopped onions
3/4 cup diced carrots
3/4 cup chopped broccoli
3/4 cup snow peas

1. Cook pasta in boiling salted water according to package directions. Drain and place in serving bowl.

2. Make the sauce. In small bowl, combine ginger, garlic, soya sauce, stock, sesame oil, sugar and cornstarch. Stir with small whisk until well mixed. Set aside.

3. In large nonstick skillet sprayed with vegetable spray, sauté steak until no longer pink, approximately 2 minutes. Drain and remove steak. Add oil to same skillet; sauté onions and carrots for 5 minutes or until tender. Add broccoli and snow peas and sauté for 2 minutes. Whisk sauce again and add to skillet and simmer, stirring constantly just until slightly thickened, approximately 3 minutes. Add beef back into skillet and heat thoroughly. Pour over pasta and toss.

Fabulous meal! Leftover fresh grated ginger freezes very well for future use. Freeze in ice cube trays or small ziploc container. You can also make this as a stir-fry and omit the pasta. Serves 4 with the pasta, serves 2 without.
