For Cake:
2 cups plain flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup oil
3 level Tablespoons cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

For Icing:
1 stick butter
3 Tablespoons cocoa
6 Tablespoons buttermilk
1 box confectioner's sugar
1 cup nuts
1 Tablespoon flavoring

For Cake:
Sift together and set aside the flour and sugar. Combine butter, oil, cocoa, and water. Boil rapidly in saucepan and pour over the sugar and flour. Add the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well.
Cook at 300º for 30-45 minutes in a 13X9 pan.

For Icing:
Bring butter, cocoa, and buttermilk to a rapid boil. Pour over sugar. Add nuts and flavoring. Spread on cake as soon as it comes from the oven.
