6 large green peppers
1½ lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
½ c water
½ c bread crumbs, seasoned
1 T Worcestershire sauce©
1 c corn, white, fresh or frozen
Salt and pepper to taste
15 oz tomato sauce
3 bacon slices, cut in ½

Preheat oven to 350º.

Cut peppers in half. Clean out seeds and membrane.

Place peppers in large pot. Add enough water to cover peppers. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes or til peppers are tender. Drain well.

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion. Drain. Add the water, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, and corn. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Place peppers in 13x9 inch casserole. Fill peppers with the meat mixture. Top each pepper with tomato sauce and 1/2 slice of bacon.

Bake for 30 minutes or til heated through.

Notes: These can be made ahead of time and frozen. Don't put the tomato sauce and bacon on until ready to bake. Cooking time will need to be adjusted.
