Peach Cobbler Recipe

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar, divided
1 Tbsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 cup of milk
4 cups peach slices
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Ground cinnamon or nutmeg, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º
Melt butter in a 13x9 baking dish. Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour over butter. Do not stir.
Bring remaining sugar, peaches, and lemon juice to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour over batter; do not stir. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired.

Bake at 375º for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown.

Serve warm or cool.

I've tried several cobbler recipes and this is the best. The batter forms a cake-like envelope around the peaches. It's pretty as well as good.
