"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
There is a note "May have to mash with a fork."
I think it means that if these cookies don't spread out like chocolate chip cookies do when baked that you have to press them with a fork like you do with peanut butter cookies before baking.
So, try a few with the balls of dough to see if they spread when baked.
If they don't spread, put a batch in by pressing the dough down with a fork before baked.
I remember Grandma Lattin had these in the house a lot and they are moist and delicious.
