2 cups flour
¼ tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
½ tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp sugar
½ cup shortening
⅔ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, baking powder, dream of tartar and sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk all at once and stir until dough follows fork around bowl. Pat or roll to ½" thickness; cut with biscuit cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450º for 10 to 12 minutes. makes 15 medium-sized biscuits.
