18 - 20 Ritz Crackers - crushed
⅔ - 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
4 egg whites
½ tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 Tbls vanilla extract
½ Pint heavy cream - whipped

Directions:
Directions:
Generously grease with butter 1, 8-10 inch pie plate.
Mix cracker crumbs and nuts thoroughly.

Beat egg whites until stiff. Add baking powder, sugar and vanilla slowly.

Fold egg mixture into nut and crumb mixture.
Spread mixture evenly into the greased pie plate

Bake 325º for 35 - 40 minutes. Chill.

Serve topped with whipped cream.
Garnish with grated chocolate if desired

I've never made this pie but it was served regularly at "Quarters 6, Fort Myers" aka
The Chairman's House" during diplomatic dinners. It was great !
