½ cup margarine, softened
½ cup shortening
1½ cups sugar
½ cup molasses
2 eggs, lightly beaten
4 cups all purpose flour
½ tsp salt
2¼ tsp baking soda
2¼ tsp ground ginger
1½ tsp ground cloves
1½ tsp cinnamon
Additional sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream margarine, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and molasses; set aside. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, beating until blended. Roll into 1½ inch balls; dip in sugar. Place 2½-inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 11 to 12 minutes.
