1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
¼ cup butter, softened
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
2 eggs
2¼ cups flour
1½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine softened cream cheese, sugar and butter, mixing until well blended. Mix in banana and eggs. Add combined dry ingredients, mixing until just moistened. Fold in nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9X5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350º for one hour or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan.

Variation: Pour batter into a 9-inch bundt pan. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes or until a inserted toothpick comes out clean.

This is the only banana bread recipe I have used since I found it in a Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese cookbook some 30 years ago. It is moist when fresh and stays moist as long as it lasts (which is usually no more than 2 or 3 days around our house). It also freezes well.
