Serves 4

3 medium potatoes peeled and finely
chopped (about 2 cups)
1 cup chopped celery
1 medium onion chopped
(about ½ cup)
1 can (about 14.5 oz ) chicken broth
½ stick butter
⅓ cup flour
2½ cups whole mlk
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cooked bone in ham steak
(about 1½ pounds) finely chopped

In a large sauce pan combine
potatoes, celery, onions, and broth

bring to a boil over high heat
reduce heat to medium low and ]
simmer 15 minutes stirring occasionally

add ham, cook an additional 2 minutes

in a medium sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat
add flour cook and stir 1 minute
gradually stir in milk cook until thickened stirring constantly
season with pepper
add mixture to hot soup, mix well
