Ingredients:  
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
5 TBS evaporated milk
1/2 c. shortening or margerine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
Cream shortening OR margarine and sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add dry ingredients with milk.
Beat thoroughly.
Add dates and nuts.

Drop by teaspoons full on greased sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.
DO NOT OVERBAKE
When done cool and brush each cookie with melted butter.
Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
