Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Grandma Chapman's recipe card does not give directions other than put in refrigerator.
How I interpret the directions would be cream butter, shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Roll out to 1/4 in thick. Use holiday cookie cutters. Bake at 350 until they are just starting to get light brown. I always judge time by looking at them in oven.

I find it interesting that Grandma Chapman labeled these 1968 ones. I don't remember mom changing her recipe year to year.
