2 sticks margarine
½ cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3⅓ cups flour
½ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Very important: start in a cold oven.

Cream together butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the egg mixture along with the milk. Add the vanilla extract.

Grease and flour your tube pan. Bake at 325º for 1½ hours.

I got this recipe from Cerenia Tadlock. She made my wedding cake with this recipe. One year later when Jimmy and I took the top layer of our cake from the freezer, it tasted just as good as our wedding day.
