32 caramels
5 fl oz evaporated milk
1 1/2 C Flour
1 1/2 C quick oatmeal
1 C brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 c soft butter
2 c chocolate chips
1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the caramels with the evaporated milk in a double boiler. Cool slightly. Mix the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and butter together. Press 1/2 of this mixture into a 9x13 pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350º. Remove from oven and sprinkle immediately with chocolate chips and the chopped nuts. Pour the melted caramels over the top of the nuts, then add the rest of the crumbs over caramels. Return to the oven and bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees or until brown. Chill for two hours. Cut into squares.
