2 cups of raisins
1˝ cups of brown sugar
2 Tlbs of orange juice
2 Tlb butter
˝tsp salt
1 Tlb vanilla ext.
2 Tlb corn starch

Directions:

It is best to use big raisins like muscat but not necessary. Put the raisings in pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil and add 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar. Mix cornstarch in a Tlb cold water and add to raisins Add remaining ingred. and pour into pie shell

Hint: for a crisp crust on the bottom beat an egg white and paint onto top of crust before adding ingred. from pot.
You can also put in 3 or 4 Tlb of rum instead of vanilla for rum and raisin.

Put pie in a 400 degree preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes on bottom shelf Then turn oven down to 350 degrees for about 45 minutes
