3 cups flour
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 tsp salt
cup whipping cream
cup milk
3 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add sour cream, egg, whipping cream and milk. Dough will be sticky. Add enough flour until you have a smooth dough for rolling out.
Roll out dough on a floured surface. Cut into strips, approximately 2x4 inches. Cut a slit into the centre of each piece, pull half of dough through slit. *Fry in deep hot fat, turning once, until golden brown.

*Best fried in a cast iron fry pan.

Serve with Borscht in winter and watermelon in summer. Our families like dipping roll kuchen in icing sugar but honey or jam is not unheard of in the Mennonite circles!
