21/2 C all-purpose flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
2 t kosher salt
8 oz butter, softened
11/2 Cpacked light brown sugar
1/4 C sugar
3 XL eggs
1 T vanilla extract
2 C chocolate chips or chunks
2 C chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350º. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or Silpat. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt.

In a mixer fitted with a paddle, b=cream the butter & sugars until fluffy, 3 minutes. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, then the vanilla.
Add the flour mixture all at once & blend until a dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Chill the dough

Roll into balls a little bigger than golf balls, then place on the baking sheet & flatten to 1/2 inch-thick disks spaced 2 in apart. Chill he dough between batches. Bake until the edges turn golden, 14-17 min. Let cool slightly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a baking rack. Store in an airtight container.
