Ingredients:

Mix together until blended:
2 Cups of flour
2 Cups white sugar
¾ teaspoon salt

Blend together:
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. + vanilla

Bring to Boil:
2 Stick butter
⅓ Cup cocoa
1 Cup water

Combine:
½ Cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine all four mixtures together and mix well until all blended.
2. Pour into greased jelly roll pan.
3. Bake at 400º preheated oven for 20 minutes.

FROSTING:
1. Bring to boil 1 stick butter, 5 T. milk and 2 T cocoa; stirring constantly.
2. Stir in 1 tsp. vanilla extract.
2. Add 1 lb. powdered sugar and 1 cup nuts (pecan pieces).

Frost cake when it is removed from the oven. Place on rack to cool.

Dad (Grandpa Dick Bowald) LOVED this cake and requested Mom (Grandma Mardell) to make it often.
She would often take this to a picnic gathering or potluck meal! It would disappear quickly! In my opinion, a perfect partner to a tall ice cold glass of milk! Life is good!!!
