Ingredients: 2 libras de carne molida cosida y sazonada con sal,pimienta,y ajo / lbs of cooked ground beef seasoned with salt,garlic, and pepper 2-3 papas cosidas para mezclar con la carne (Mezcla la papa a la carne) 2-3 cooked potatoes(mashed) to mix into the meat 1/2 bolsa de maseca/ bag of Maseca found in Hispanic aisle of stores 1 bote de leche de clavel / can of evaporated milk 1 cucharada de sal / tsp of salt 1 cucharada de Royal / tsp of baking powder Agua lo necessario para mesclar la maseca/ necessary water to mix the maseca Aceite para freir/ Oil for frying
Toppings finely shredded lettuce, tomato,finely shredded cheddar cheese and your favorite salsas !!

Directions:Pongan el aceite a hervir!
Mescla la maseca, bote de clavel, sal, royal, y agua. Ya mesclada se hacen bolitas para hacer sus gorditas (redondas) a Mano o con un tortillero. Ya formadas, Se ponen a freir por unos dos minutos. Pon en plato con tuallitas deja enfriar un poco. Habre la gordita por en medio y rellena con carne molida, lechuga, tomate, queso rallado amarillo y su salsa picosita!
Heat enough oil for frying ! Mix the maseca, milk,salt, baking powder, add water little by little until the mix forms a non sticky ball. Afterwards take the dough and make med size balls. Using your hands or rolling pin or a tortillero form a small tortilla not to thin or thick. Fry for around 2 minutes. Place in a plate lined with paper towels. Let them cool a bit then using a kitchen towel get a gordita and using a small steak knife cut an opening and fill with meat/potato mixture and toppings !! |
