1 lb raisins
1 cup shortening
2 cup brown or white sugar
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp salt
2 cup water
4 cup flour
1 cup coffee
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in 2 cups of water until water is absorbed.
Cream shortening and sugar and pour into the raisins.
Sift flour and spices and other dry ingredients.
Add alternately the coffee and flour and finally folding in the nuts.
Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes.
