½ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. sour milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½tsp. salt
2 cups chopped peeled apples

Topping
2 tbsp. sugar
¼ tsp. cinnamon.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs and sour milk, stir together. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and add the apples. Mix well.
Top with the sugar and cinnamon mix. Press down or it will fall off the loaf when removing from the pan.
Pour into 1 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Bake 55 minutes at 350º.
