6 1/2 c. All Purpose flour
2 T. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
2 pkgs. dry yeast (2 tsp.)
1 stick butter (very soft or melted)
2 T. hot water

Optional:
2 T. vanilla
1/2 T. nutmeg
1 T. cinnamon

Filling:
1 c. brown sugar
2 T. cinnamon

Frosting:
1 stick butter
1 T. vanilla
1 box (1 lb.) powdered sugar
Canned milk

Directions:

Dough:
Mix 1/2 of flour and rest of dry ingredients, including yeast. Add hot water and mix well. Mix in egg and optional ingredients, if desired. Add rest of flour gradually while stirring, then kneading. Knead for 10 minutes. Put dough in oiled, covered large bowl. Let rise until doubled in bulk. Punch down. Roll out dough in a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Cover with filling, roll-up, cut into 1 1/2 in. slices. Place on baking sheets, cover and let rise until doubled.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, shifting pans top and bottom mid-way through baking. Remove and let cool slightly. Frost while still warm.

Filling:
Melt in microwave 1 stick butter in pyrex cup or bowl. Pour melted butter on rolled-out dough. Cover with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Raisins, walnuts or pecans can be added, if desired.

Frosting:
In heavy saucepan, melt butter, then add powdered sugar,vanilla, and canned milk to make fairly thin consistency. Pour and spread on warm rolls.
