Peel about 6 apples, slice thin - cook until tender. Add 1/4 cup sugar. Take apples out of juice. Thicken juice with flour and add cinnamon. Put apples in bowl to cool.
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
2 tbsp milk
2 tbsp lemon juice ( I use Real Lemon in bottle)
Mix flour, salt, shortening - add egg, mix well. Then add milk and lemon juice. Mix as biscuits, roll on wax paper. Make holes in bottom crust before putting in apples.
Cook 30 minutes or until light brown at 425º. Add butter and sugar on top and cook 5 minutes longer. (can mix more cinnamon in sugar)
If 2 crusts are needed, double recipe except egg.
