Ingredients: 12 TBSP. UNSALTED BUTTER (1½ STICKS) MELTED AND COOLED UNTIL WARM ¾ CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR ½ CUP GRANULATED SUGAR 1 LARGE EGG PLUS 1 EGG YOLK 2 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT 2 CUPS PLUS 2 TBSP. UNSIFTED ALL PURPOSE FLOUR ½ TSP. SALT ½ TSP. BAKING SODA 1-2 CUPS CHOCOLATE CHIPS

HEAT OVEN. PLACE OVEN RACK IN THE MIDDLE POSITION. IN MIXING BOWL, COMBINE SUGARS AND BUTTER. CREAM WITH WHISK UNTIL FLUFFY. ADD EGG AND EGG YOLK AND VANILLA. WHISK UNTIL BLENDED. ADD DRY INGREDIENTS AND MIX UNTIL BLENDED. DO NOT OVER MIX. ADD CHIPS WHILE MIXING IN DRY INGREDIENTS.
DEPENDING ON WHAT SIZE COOKIE IS DESIRED, USE COOKIE SCOOP TO MOLD DOUGH AND DROP ONTO LIGHTLY GREASED COOKIE SHEET 2" APART.
BAKE FOR ABOUT 16 MINUTES OR UNTIL EDGES BEGIN TO TURN GOLDEN. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND LET COOL ON PAN FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES. REMOVE COOKIES TO COOLING RACK. |

Notes: I prefer to us my Kitchenaide mixer to make these cookies. It all goes together faster and prevents overworking the dough.
I make a double batch and freeze them in a ziplock bag. Great for grandkids and hubby's lunches.
