1 - 1/2 # Ground Beef
5 C water
1 16 oz. can tomatoes cut up
1 C chopped onion
1 C sliced carrots
1 C chopped celery
1/3 C pearl barley
1/4 C catsup
1 T instant beef bullion granules
2 tsp season salt
1 bay leaf
1 tsp basil
salt and pepper

1. In large sauce pan or dutch oven, brown ground beef and drain. Add water, undrained tomatoes and remaining ingredients.

2. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour until vegetables are tender. Remover bay leaf and enjoy.
