2 lbs stewing beef
1/2 cup flour
3 tbsp fat
2 tbsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 cups boiling water
16 oz can tomato sauce
6 medium carrots
2 onions
4 or 5 potatoes
1 can green peas
1/4 cup cold water

Directions:

Cut beef in 1 inch cubes, dredge in 1/4 cup of flour. Turn temperature control to 375º and preheat skillet. Add fat then brown meat on all sides. Add next 4 ingredients, stir to mix well. Turn temperature control to 225º and cook covered 1- 1/2 hours or until meat is almost tender. Cook carrots in big pan 15 or 20 minutes, then add potatoes and onions. Cook this 30 minutes then add meat. Cook till all is tender. Add peas. Blend remaining 1/4 cup flour and cold water and add to stew. Cook and stir.
