CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE, SOFTENED
1 CUP SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 CUP SOUR CREAM
1 TSP. VANILLA
2 CUPS FLOUR
1 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1 TSP. SODA
TSP. SALT

TOPPING: MIX CUP FIRMLY PACKED BROWN SUGAR, 1 TSP. CINNAMON AND CUP CHOPPED NUTS.

350 9X9" PAN

PREHEAT OVEN. IN MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR UNTIL LIGHT. BEAT IN EGGS. BLEND IN SOUR CREAM AND VANILLA. ADD FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, SODA AND SALT. STIR JUST UNTIL WELL MIXED. PLACE HALF THE BATTER IN GREASED 8X8 PAN OR BUNDT PAN. COMBINE INGREDIENTS FOR TOPPING. SPRINKLE HALF OF MIXTURE OVER BATTER IN PAN. TOP WITH REMAINING BATTER AND REMAINING TOPPING. BAKE 40 TO 50 MINUTES OR UNTIL TOOTHPICK INSERTED IN CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL 5 MINUTES AND SERVE HOT.
