3 cups flour
1 t baking powder
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

preheat oven to 325º


sift flour and baking powder together and set aside

cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy about 5 minutes
add egg and vanilla and beat another 4 minutes
add dry ingredients and mix just until incorporated and dough pulls away from sides of bowl

put 1/2 the dough on plastic wrap
place another piece of wrap in top of dough and roll to 1/4 inch thick
do the same with the other half of dough
refrigerate about an hour or overnight
cut out cookies and bake just until you see a little edge golden brown, about 8 minutes
