2 c boiling water
2 c All Bran cereal
1 c white sugar
1 c shortening
4 eggs
5 c flour
1 tbsp. salt
3 tbsp. baking soda
1 quart buttermilk
4 c bran flakes
2 c raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over all-bran cereal, sugar, and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour, salt and soda. Add buttermilk to creamy mixture. Add dry ingredients and beat well. Add bran flakes and raisins. Stir in these last two ingredients until just moistened. Store in covered containers for at least 24 hours before baking. Can be stored for up to 6 weeks. Bake at 400F for 15-20 minutes.
