2 tbsp. butter
1/4 cup minced onion
3 tbsp. minced green pepper
2 cups sliced okra
2 cups canned or fresh tomatoes, peeled and chopped 1 tsp. fresh basil, finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the butter, add onion and green pepper and cook until soft but not brown.
Add the okra and saute over moderate heat about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Reduce the heat, add the remaining ingredients and simmer ,covered about 25 minutes. Add small amount od water if necessary to prevent scorching and give a moist consistency
