1/2 cup heavy cream
3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
dash of salt
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa

Directions:
Directions:
In heavy one quart sauce pan over medium heat, stir cream and butter until butter melts and cream barely begins to boil. Add both sugars and stir until they are completely dissolved. Reduce heat and briskly stir in cocoa and salt. Remove from heat and immediately serve or refrigerate until ready to use.

Of the handful of recipes that make me think of my Mom, this is in my top 3 that I love the most. I'm not sure where she got it (I feel like the original copy was a newspaper clipping), but it quickly became a classic. A couple of things I remember distinctly: Mom made it once with something other than the basic Hershey's cocoa and said it did not turn out right. She discouraged me from using anything but Hershey's original. Also, she liked it best served with vanilla ice cream...I do, too.
