1 head of fresh green cabbage
1 small onion
Salt
Sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
White pepper
1 can evaporated milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cut cabbage in 1/4" thickness & put in saucepan.
Slice & add onion.Sprinkle in salt & add a little sugar.
Add enough water to cover & bring to a boil.
Turn off heat & let stand on the burner (cabbage will cook in hot liquid).

Melt the butter in a separate pan & combine with the flour & a small amount
of cabbage liquid. Spoon the cabbage into this mixture.Add a sprinkle of white pepper along with a little more sugar and salt. Stir in the milk and serve.
