Cream together:
1/2 C butter
1 C sugar
1 egg and beat

Sift together:
1 3/4 C flour
1 t soda
1/2 t salt
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t cloves
1/4 t nutmeg

Add Alternately:
1 C applesauce
1 C nuts

Put in 8x8 pan and bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
