4-5 cups apples (I prefer granny smith)
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
dash ginger
dash nutmeg
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup cut up butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.
In bowl peel and cut apples into thin slices, about 1/2 inch thick. Mix apples with sugars, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cornstarch.

Roll out a pie crust and place in 10 inch pie pan. Place apple mixture in. Drop cut up butter into pie. Add second crust on top (or use crumb topping if you prefer). Cook for 20 minutes, lower oven to 350º and cook an additional 30 minutes.
