2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
tsp salt
tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp sugar
cup shortening
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450. Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening/margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour in milk, stir until dough follows fork. Turn out on lightly floured surface, knead for 30 seconds. Pat until approximately inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter, or dip glass cup in flour and cut with that if you don't have a biscuit cutter. Bake on ungreased pan for 10-12 minutes.
