1 stick soft margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg. Stir dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk to sugar mixture, blend thoroughly. Add vanilla. Drop by tsp on a lightly greased cookie sheet. For sugary top lightly flatten with bottom of a glass which has been dipped in sugar. Bake in 375 oven 10 - 12 minutes. Remove from sheet while hot.

Add 6 oz pkg chocolate chips if desired.

Decorate plain cookies with nut halves, coconut, colored sugar, or icing.
