3/4 cups shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
3 cups uncooked oats
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, white and brown sugar, egg and shortening with mixer. Stir in uncooked oats, vanilla, flour and water until well blended. Drop the cookie dough by the teaspoonful onto a non-stick cookie sheet. Or if you do not have a non-stick sheet, rub with little shortening, first baking only. If you want cookies to be uniform, take small amount of cookie dough and roll into ball. Bake in preheated oven 300º for 12 minutes. The secret is do not overcook.

Filling for cookies:
3 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
dash salt
box powdered sugar
3 or 4 tbsp milk
2 tbsp cocoa
2 tbsp chocolate syrup

Melt butter and other ingredients. Mix with mixer. More sugar or milk may be added to make filling correct consistency. Put between cookies.
