3 tbsp cocoa
1-1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp shortening
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp white syrup
1 tsp vanilla
10 tbsp milk
dash salt

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients in saucepan. Cook on medium until it boils then put on medium high. Bring to a boil and boil one minute. Cool slightly and beat and pour into dish before too creamy cut in squares.

Note: can substitute 4 tbsp butter for shortening/butter

Made like this - had good luck!

3 cups sugar
1 cup milk
6 tbsp cocoa
2 tbsp white syrup
dash salt
2 tbsp vanilla flavoring
1 stick butter

Put butter and vanilla in candy after it is cooked - before you start beating.
