2 medium potatoes
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
About 2 cups flour
1 head cabbage, cored and chopped
1 small onion chopped
1 pound bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Peel & grate potatoes, add salt, flour, egg & mix well. If too stiff, add a little water (1/4 cup more or less). Drop small portions from tip of spoon into boiling, salted water. Cook 7 to 10 minutes. Drain & rinse w/cold water. Set aside.
Brown bacon, reserving some of the drippings. Brown chopped onion in bacon grease, set aside. Brown small portions of cabbage in bacon grease, until all can be added to skillet. Add onion, crumbled bacon & dumplings.

Mom always made these. It's another recipe from her Anniversary Slovak-American cookbook. We have them every Christmas eve. I have to make a double or triple batch for our crowd & I use a crock pot to keep them warm. There are NEVER left-overs no matter how many I make.
