1 cup shortening (part butter)
1 and 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 and 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

2 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 ºF.
2. Mix shortening, sugar and eggs, thoroughly.
3. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method. Mix flour, cream of tartar, soda,and salt.
4. Stir dry ingredients into the shortening, sugar, egg mixture.
5. Form into balls, the size of walnuts.
6. Combine the 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon and roll the formed balls into it.
7. Place balls about 2-inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
8. Bake 8-10 minutes.
